News and entertainment know what’s best. Let’s listen to them.

Who’s funny and newsy? Who’s newsy and funny?

OK, here’s where I really need support and help from my very few (but delightful) readers. I’m going to start compiling a list of current intersections of humor and news. I’ll be indexing them in a mostly arbitrary way on a vague and stupid spectrum of about, say, three points between journalism and comedy.

So for example, if 1 is “mostly comedy,” 2 is “pretty evenly split” and 3 is “mostly journalism:”

The Daily Show: 1
The Onion: 1
Chuck Klosterman: ?

I would love it if you’d add to the conversation by emailing (dave at daveburdick) or replying in the comments with any other such intersections you can think of as well as recommended grades. Eventually, maybe we’ll have a big index to study. Come on folks, I know you’re out there and opinionated.

This could include talk radio that you think is closer to theater than journalism, comedy that you find interacts in a significant way with journalism… make arguments for whatever.
